Straightening with the Ruler tool
- [Instructor] All right, now I'm going to show you yet another way to automatically straighten an image that provides you with a little more control, and that is to use the ruler tool. Now the thing about the ruler tool is that it doesn't crop the image at all. So it's going to leave behind those transparent wedges in the corners, which is why I'm going to show you how to exactly crop those corners away to maintain the largest possible rectangle using the canvas size command. So I'll start things off by clicking and holding on the eyedropper tool, and then you want to chooses the ruler tool from the slide out menu. All right, I'll go ahead and press shift tab in order to hide those right side panels again. And then, I'll zoom on in, and I'll go ahead and drag with this tool like so.
