Strobes and the red histogram

- [Deke] In our second movie on the topic of exposure and how it relates to underwater macro photography. We'll be taking a look at strobes and their effect on the red histogram. - [Hergen] So, we're going to talk about how we use that red histogram to help us set our strobe exposure. So, here again we that example of that red histogram that we'll see on the back of our camera when reviewing an image that we've just taken. Now strobes are going to be the major source of red light underwater, because remember, as that sunlight filters down through the water, we're going to lose red, orange pretty quickly, and just be left with blue and green. So therefore, that red histogram is going to show us the impact of our strobes on the overall exposure. So, now let's take a look at how this looks in an actual image. So, in this image, the strobe is turned off, and if we look at the histogram, we can see all we really have is a little bit of green and a little bit of blue and it's mostly bunched…
