Take control of selecting layers
- [Instructor] When you're designing in Photoshop, it doesn't take long to build up a lot of layers in the layers panel. That can make it difficult to select just the layer you want manually. That's okay because Photoshop has an automatic layer selection tool that can help you. To use it, select the Move tool. In the options bar, check Auto-Select and make sure the dropdown next to that option is set to Layer. Click on an image element, like this pink flame, and the layer that contains the top most image element at that spot is selected in the layers panel. Now whatever you do affects only that layer. To select more than one layer with Auto-Select, click on an item in the image, like this purple flame, and then hold down the shift key and click on another item, like it's shadow.
