- [Instructor] Hello friends. My name is Chris Orwig, and welcome to another episode of Photo Tools Weekly. In this week's episode we are in Photoshop. One of the most powerful things in Photoshop are layers. What I want to do in this tutorial is I want to share with your five different ways that we can create layers and share those tips with you on how we can do that. The first one is pretty obvious. You already know it. It's just to click on the Add New Layer icon. That creates a new layer above the layer that we're on. Let me delete that one by dragging it to the trash can. Another way though that we can create a new layer is by holding on the Command key on a Mac, Control key on Windows, and clicking on the same exact icon. Notice how this time it creates a layer underneath the layer that we had currently targeted. Now here I'll go ahead and press the delete or backspace key in order to delete that layer.
