Three ways to duplicate a layer

- [Instructor] In this movie, I'll show you three different ways to duplicate a layer inside Photoshop, and the reason that we're duplicating a layer is that we need to create a second wing. And the layer in question is this guy right there, wing number one. So go ahead and select it. Method number one is to click on the flyout menu icon in the upper right corner of the layers panel and choose Duplicate Layer and then we can go ahead and name this guy wing number two and click OK. Now, the problem with this method, even though it's the most obvious of them, is that it destroys our clipping mask. So what I'm going to have to do at this point is drag wing number two to the top of the stack and then reestablish the clip layers by Alt or Option clicking on the horizontal lines, first between light contrast and wing number one and then between paint away and light contrast. And that way, if I turn the wing number two layer off, you can see that everything is back to the way it should be…
