Tone-mapping single images with the Quantum HDR Engine

- The next tool we're going to explore is Aurora HDR. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. And it really emphasizes the differences between the lightest and darkest areas. Aurora can be run as a stand-alone application or as a plugin and it works with tools like Photoshop, Lightroom, Aperture, and Photos for macOS. Let me show you how to enhance a single image by running it through the Quantum HDR process. In this case I've got a single photograph selected. I can choose to drag this into Aurora or just send it. I'm going to select Open In, Aurora HDR. This takes the image and hands it off. You can also just launch Aurora and choose File, Open, to do the same. It's going to analyze the single Raw file and attempt to pull out maximum detail. From the Settings icon here you can also tell it to remove color noise and if there's strong backlighting chromatic aberration. Chromatic aberration is color fringing that you might see…
