Traditional darkroom color toning effects

- [Instructor] Photoshop has the ability to emulate several traditional color toning effects that photographers have previously achieved in the dark room. But now, we can create those color effects in Photoshop without actually using any chemistry. The first thing I want to do is tap the d key in order to select my default foreground and background colors. And then at the bottom of the layers panel I'm going to add a gradient map adjustment layer. We can see that Photoshop adds a gradient from black to white, the default foreground and background colors. And the only thing that appears to have changed in the image area is we no longer see any color. And that's because all of the color and tunnel values have been remapped to this gradient.
