Transforming a selection
- At times you may find that the modification you want to apply to a selection is essentially to stretch or skew that selection just a little bit. And in many cases you'll find that the transform command that you might use to resize and skew an image layer, can also be very effective for fine-tuning your selections. And I find that's especially true when it is a selection of some form of a geometric shape, a rectangular, or elliptical selection, for example. Let's take a look at a situation where that transform feature can be incredibly helpful for a selection. Here I have a logo that is essentially elliptical in shape, so it seems like a perfect situation where I would use the elliptical marquee tool. So I will click and hold my mouse button on the button for the rectangular marquee tool on the toolbox and from the fly-out menu that appears, I will then choose the elliptical marquee tool.
