Understanding the Layout settings
- [Instructor] Now, the most puzzling thing about Photomerge is these layout settings right here, which is why I'm going to demonstrate how each and every one of them work in this movie. Now, up here at the top, we have Auto, followed by five manual overrides. So if you select Auto, Photomerge is going to evaluate the images and then apply one of these five, most likely cylindrical or spherical, automatically. But, you can select a different one if you like, and you can, of course, experiment to see which one you like best. So, to give you a general sense of what's going on here, Perspective is going to try to keep the central image undistorted and then flare the side images outward, and so you're going to get a kind of crazy super-huge bowtie, as we'll see in just a moment. Cylindrical is going to wrap each one of the images around a cylinder and then map them together, and so the result is going to look a little bit lumpy, although it will actually come out smooth after you crop it.…
