Upsampling with Preserve Details 2.0

- [Instructor] In this movie, I'll show you how to upscale using the best technology that's currently available, and it goes by the name Preserve Details 2.0. And so I'll go up to the Image menu and choose the Image Size command. I'll make sure the Resample checkbox is turned on and then I'll crank the Resolution value up to 1,000, as we've seen in the past, and I'll go ahead and move the Image Size dialog box out of the way for a moment and click on this dude's face in order to center his face inside the preview. Now, as you may recall from the previous movie, I changed the interpolation method to Bicubic smooth gradients, which is my recommended method when downsampling an image. It does not work well, however, when upsampling. And for that matter, neither does Bicubic Sharper, which ends up creating such crispy edges that you can almost see magnified pixels here inside the preview. Instead, if you were to switch this…
