Upsampling vs. real high-resolution data

- [Instructor] In this movie I'll show you how to upsample an image, that is, add pixels to it here inside Photoshop, and I'll also show you how that compares to capturing real high resolution image data using a digital camera or a scanner. Now I'm going to start things off inside this very small image by duplicating it, which you can do by going to the Image menu and choosing the Duplicate command, and incidentally, this is going to create a separate version of this image file, and I'm going to go ahead and name it Upsampled Image like so, and then I'll click OK, and we now have a second independent version of that image file. Now I'm going to go ahead and move it over so that it's the middle file, like so, and then I'll go up to the Image menu and choose the Image Size command, which is going to bring up a small version of the dialog box once again, and the reason for this is I keep canceling out.
