- [Instructor] Illustrator Symbols and Photoshop shapes. How do we make one into the other? Previously, I showed how we can take an Illustrator Symbol and convert it to a Photoshop Custom Shape. In this movie, I'm going to do the opposite. So I'm going to start out with my Custom Shape tool, and then come to my Custom Shape drop down and use the butterfly. Now, if you don't see the butterfly, if you don't see as many Symbols I have here, come to the gear icon, and choose all. That will load all of the available Symbols. Now, when you're drawing a Symbol, you are either going to draw it as a shape or as a path, possibly even as pixels, but it's the first two options that are the most useful. For our purposes, it doesn't matter. I'll leave it a path. And I'll hold down the Shift Key to keep things proportional. So, I'm now going to choose my Path Selection Tool, I don't actually need to do this, because this path is currently selected, but were it not selected, I could select it with…
