Use type to mask a video layer
- [Instructor] Type, logos, and other graphics are common elements in some types of video projects, and they can be combined with video footage or stills in very creative ways. One of the simplest ways to apply a mask effect without actually having to create a mask is to take advantage of Photoshop's clipping mask feature. Let's check it out. So in this file, I have two video layers, and let's just play the first one here. It's a river up in the highlands of Iceland, and the second video layer is a waterfall, also in Iceland, coincidentally. And what we're gonna do here with this is I'm gonna add some text here above the river layer, and we're gonna use the clipping mask feature to have the video details from the waterfall show up inside the letter forms, so let me turn that waterfall layer off, click on the river layer to make it active. Let's get the type tool. I'm gonna be using a sans serif bold typeface, in this case, Myriad Pro. It doesn't really matter what font you use, just…
