Use videos as masks
- [Instructor] We've already seen how you can use layer masks and even filter effects to create transitions and effects in a video. But you can also use video clips too. If the video is photographed in a certain way so that it takes advantage of blend mode friendly colors such as black and white it can be used to create a custom transition mask between two video clips. So we're continuing with the same project, with the danger sign, and I've added two new layers to this file. And up at the top here we have one here called river rapids and another one called black goop. So let me just scrub through here so you can just see what's going on. Here is the black goop layer. Actually let me just turn this top layer off so we can see the goop by itself. And the goop is just some paint that I was having run down a piece of white poster board. And the idea here is that I knew that the black paint against the white background would be perfect for using blend modes to get video clips to show up…
