- [Instructor] All right now I'll show you how to use the patch tool, which heals by selection as opposed to using a brush. Now, it's a good tool. It's definitely worth knowing about. My only problem with it is that it makes destructive modifications as opposed to returning its results to an independent layer. All right now, just so we can better see what we're doing here, I'm going to turn off the dreamstime layer, even though this is indeed a dreamstime image. Notice that the background is selected. If you want to make sure you don't damage anything about this image, then you could jump a copy of it just by pressing Control + Alt + J or Command + Option + J on the Mac. And I'll just call this layer patch demo. And then I'll click OK. All right now, I'll click and hold on the spot healing brush, and I'll choose the patch tool from the flyout menu. And now I'll zoom out slightly by pressing Control + 0 or Command…
