Using the Screen mode

- [Instructor] In this movie, I'll show you a couple of really great uses for the Screen Mode. For starters, I'm going to introduce this Moon into this blue sky. And so the first thing I'll do is right-click on the Moon with my Rectangular Marquee tool, and then I'll choose Duplicate Layer. And I'll change the destination document to Scottish Highlands.jpg, and I'll go ahead and call this new layer Moon, and click OK. Now I'll go ahead and switch back to the highlands image. Now obviously the Moon is way too big, which means I need to scale it, and whenever you're thinking of transforming a layer, it's always a good idea to first convert it to a Smart Object. And generally speaking, you want to do that before you apply a Blend Mode. And so, go ahead and right-click inside the image and choose Convert to Smart Object in order to turn it into a Smart Object, that way you can now apply the Screen Blend Mode and still have access to it later on as opposed to having to dig into the Smart…
