Using a Smart Object to freeze adjustment layers

- Sometimes as you work with adjustment layers and blend modes, you may find yourself wanting to simplify. Maybe it's because you intend to hand your Photoshop file off to someone else, or you want to prevent accidental changes that might be made as you're experimenting. Smart Objects are a great way to do this. The Smart Object command lets you select multiple layers. Then you can choose Layer, Smart Objects, convert to Smart Objects. You can also access this command with a right-click. When you do this, it takes everything and bundles it into one object. For example, I can call this blue scooter, and if we double-click, you see inside is everything. That entire layer was remapped, and the file was called Gradient Map.PSB. This new version of a Photoshop file, the PSB format, is embedded inside this layered document. Now remember, Photoshop can store layers in a tif file or the traditional Photoshop document, so…
