- [Instructor] With this photograph, I want to create a graphic or an ad for Sonya here, who's pictured, and it's for her boutique shop, and it says Sonya's Botique Memorial Weekend Sale. So again, currently the type, as you can see here if we zoom in, it's really competing with the background too much. So let's look at a more advanced way that we can blur out the background and then take advantage of the area we blurred and create what's called a channel mask so that we can darken that area or change the color there, as well. Here's how this one works. This time we'll go to the layer which we want to work on. Rather than duplicating the layer, we'll go to our Filter pull-down menu and choose Convert for Smart Filters. What this does is it allows us to convert this layer into a smart object. This just means it's a flexible layer where we can make changes wherever we want. Next up, go to Filter. Here, go to Blur Gallery, just like before, and then choose Tilt Shift. Now, the good news…
