Using deselect and reselect

- The main task involved in creating a selection is essentially selecting, but from time to time, you might need to deselect a selection. Usually in the types of situations you're most likely going to be using selections, you never really need to deselect because for example, if you have an active selection and you add an adjustment layer, then there will be a layer mask based automatically on the selection that was active when you added that adjustment layer and the selection will be deselected automatically. Or if you're creating a composite image and you create a selection and then you add a layer mask based on that selection for one of your image layers, again, the selection will automatically be deselected and the layer mask will essentially take the place of that selection. But sometimes, you may actually want to deselect your selection. Maybe you got started creating a selection and you decide you don't really need it or you're not happy with how your selection is turning out…
