- [Instructor] In this movie, I'll show you how to select this figure, which is found in the approximate center of the final composition, and along the way, I'll show you how to use each of Photoshop's three selection tools. Alright, so I'll go ahead and switch over to this Fotolia image right here, and I'm going to zoom in on it as well, and the first thing I want to do is select just a general region of this image, because there's no reason to bring over the entire thing. Most of it is just sandy background. So, I'll go in and select this approximate area here, and I'll go ahead and jump it by pressing Control + J, or Command + J, on the Mac, but if I do that, then I'm going to jump the selection to an unnamed layer. That is to say, it's going to be auto-named, Layer 1. What if you want to name the layer as you jump it? Well, in that case, I'll go ahead and press Control + Z, or Command + Z on the Mac, to undo that change, and I'll press Control + Alt + J, or Command + Option + J on…
