Using the exercise files

- Now, to help bring this course to life, I've put together a collection of exercise files. These are my own images that I'm sharing with you, so you can really explore the techniques. I find that, when learning something new, it's a lot easier to follow along and look at the same example. In most cases, I've also included an after state so you can look at the targeted end result, as well as have a starter image. Now, to save you time, I've often built these images out, fixing problems in advance, and sometimes even adding the adjustment layers. I want you to be able to jump right in and master the skill, so a lot of the exercise files are designed so you can just step in and make a quick tweak without having to do a lot of pre-work or even add adjustment layers. The layer is there, ready for you to work with it. Make sure you download these files and have them on your system. Now, they should work with older versions of Photoshop. The skills that we're covering here have been available in Photoshop for many years. Adjustment layers, blending modes, and masks. A couple of the techniques we get into, such as the select and mask command, or the color range command have seen recent improvements, but you should still be able to follow along and just use the older versions of the tools. Go ahead and download those files and, once you have 'em, let's begin.
