Using the gray-point eyedropper
- Next, I'll show you what to do when the Auto button doesn't work. Go into File and Open. Then, select the image called Venice-02.jpg and click on Open. Notice that we now have two tabs, one with the first photo that we worked on and a second with the photo we just opened. Photoshop can open multiple images at the same time. Start by double clicking on the hand tool to fit the image to screen, then create a new Curves adjustment layer and click on the Auto button from the Properties panel. Photoshop will apply the color correction algorithm that we used in the previous example, but it will not work this time. You can hold Alt on Windows, Option on the Mac, and click on the Auto button and you will see that the algorithm is the same that we used in the previous example. Press cancel to exit. In some cases, this algorithm may not work, but you can still easily color correct your image. Simply select the Gray Point…
