Using layer comps to compare blend settings

- In this movie, I'll show you one of my favorite uses for layer comps. And that's comparing blend settings. And the great thing is, layer comps save every blend setting that you can apply, here inside Photoshop. And so, imagine that you're experimenting with blend modes, but you're not exactly sure what direction to go. In that case you can save what you come up with as layer comps and then you can compare those comps to make sure that you're working in the right direction. So, here I have a couple of files from the Dreamstime image library. One is quite obviously a photograph and the other is a vector drawing, that I copied an illustrator and then pasted as a smart object here inside Photoshop. And in the end I want to blend these two layers in order to create this final effect. Alright, so I'll go ahead and turn off the URL and then I'll select that vector smart object. And I know want to apply a contrast mode, I'm just not sure which one. And so, I'll start by applying overlay…
