Using shapes to mask layers

- [Instructor] We're going to take a look at two different ways to use shapes as masks in Photoshop. While I find using a shape to create a vector mask is easiest when cutting out a single photo. When I'm working with multiple shapes or multiple layers then I find that using clipping masks are easier and more flexible to work with. So I'll start by selecting the polygon shaped tool and then holding down the Control Key on Mac or right clicking on windows, I'm going to reset the tool. Now I could just draw a path in this case but I think is in the easier for us to see shapes, so I'll leave it set to shape with a fill, but I'm going to remove the stroke by assigning it a stroke of none. Then I want to change the number of sides to six and I'll click and drag out my first shape, holding down the Shift Key to constrain the proportions.
