Using variables with templates
- [Instructor] Although variables have been in Photoshop for many releases, only a small number of people know of its immense power for tasks such as automating event photography or any project where you want to automate the substitution of images and text in a document. So, I have this template file that I've created, it's very basic. There's a background layer, there's a photo layer where I want the photo to go. It has just a layer effect that has a stroke around it. And then there's a title layer. In order to define the variables, I'll choose image, variables and then define. I want Photoshop to replace the photo layer with a pixel-replacement layer. And I've got a spreadsheet of information that has the names of the files that I want it to replace. As well as a text description that I need Photoshop to automatically change in the title area. So for the photo layer, I want it to replace the pixels and I'm going to…
