Warp the type
- In this mini project, I'm going to use Photoshop and Illustrator to create this vintage postcard. Inspired in general by the genre of 'Greetings from' postcards with pictures inside the letters, and in particular by this, which became the cover of Bruce Springsteen's first album. So if I switch to my starting point, we have a background, on which is a gradient. And we have a layer of type. I'm going to create a new layer above this, I'll lock these two layers, and I'll type in the word 'Brighton.' Of course, feel free to adapt this to wherever you live, or wherever you may have good images for. Now the typeface that I want to use is Proxima Nova, extra condensed, black. I'm using this because it's available on Typekit, so if you have a creative cloud subscription, you will have access to this font. But, if you don't, then just use a font that has a large surface area, so that we can see as much of those pictures inside the letters as possible. And I'm going to start out with a point…
