- Photoshop comes with a broad selection of expressive brushes and endless user variations are available online. Surely the brush you need in particular, can be found amongst this brush universe, yes? Well, possibly, but if you're like me despite this immense well of existing brushes it can be daunting to find that perfect brush that exactly matches your vision. By knowing how to utilize Photoshop's brush, making features you can bypass the process of auditioning a parade of existing brushes and craft your own, according to your vision. Welcome to customizing brushes in Photoshop. I'm John Derry, and in this course, I will show you the inner workings of Photoshop's brush making capabilities, and how you can take advantage of these features to create expressive brushes that match your style and intent. We are initially going to delve into Photoshop's various brushed dab, or stamp types. These tips control the physical qualities of a stroke. Brush hairs, a graphic element, airbrush spray, or even chalk that erodes as you use it. Once we have this cast of brush tips under our belt we'll look at how to enhance the strokes by adjusting the manner in which paint flows from these tips, opaque, translucent, smeary and more. By the end of this course, you will have the tools to create a brush that matches your vision, as well as enabling more original artwork. Now let's get started with customizing brushes in Photoshop.
