What a “clean edit” is and how to get it

- [Instructor] A clean edit. When discussing editing of photos, a clean edit is often brought up, but what do we mean by a clean edit? Here is an example of a Straight Out Of Camera, then a clean edit done in Lightroom, and a very stylized edit in Photoshop. The clean edit corrects for white balance and exposure, it makes sure the contrast is even. A clean edit like this one give us a great base to do wild cartoony edits. It's like freshly washing your hair before you blow dry it. You got to get rid of that old junk before you apply new product. It makes for a cleaner edit overall. A clean edit gives us the base that we can apply split-toning and vignetting to like in this example. And a clean edit lets us stylize the photo. It's easier to edit one you've got a clean base with an accurate white balance. Let's start cleaning these kids up.
