What to do when everything is crooked

- By now, you've had a chance to garner some real hands-on experience, not only with Photoshop, but also with the fruits of your labors, the digital image itself. And along the way, you've probably discovered that you're developing a better eye. You're starting to go from a passive viewer to an active one. You are literally learning how to see. Back in chapter four of the Fundamentals course, I showed you one way to exercise your ever-improving view of the world by straightening an image. The horizon, after all, should always be plum. But over time, you'll find that that's not enough. It isn't just the horizon that sometimes ends up crooked. It's nearly every perpendicular line in your photo. Lines bowing inward suggest pincushioning. Lines that bow out indicate barrel distortion. Strange angles may be a function of unintended perspective.
