What you learn in this course
- Hi, my name's Rich Harrington, and welcome to this course where we'll be exploring intermediate and advanced techniques when working with adjustment layers and blending modes. These are great techniques that you can use to enhance or stylize your images. In this course, we're going to walk through lots of different topics, including the essential skills, but we'll quickly move on to more advanced topics. We'll start things off by making sure you understand what adjustment layers are and how to control them completely. Then we'll move on to some of the hidden powers of Auto. Auto doesn't have to just be for beginners. It can be a way to quickly explore different alternatives that Photoshop has built in. We'll then take a look at an advanced black and white workflow to create very rich black and white images or duotones. We'll also explore how you could bring out the color with hue and saturation. And then we'll move on to doing some advanced color grading using lookup tables or LUTS. To continue along this line of creative color, we'll also explore the very versatile gradient map, and wrap things up with a look at smart objects so that you can take all of these adjustments and simplify your project. We've got a lot of great things to explore, so let's begin.
