What's the best way to shrink a photo's dimensions?
- If you decide to make an image smaller, how you do this can actually greatly affect the image. You might think, well, making it smaller just means it'll get more clear because we're just throwing away information. There's plenty left over. Well, that's not necessarily the case. There are many different ways to size an image. Let me show you what I consider the best. In Photoshop, what I always suggest, is take a zoom in to 100% so you're viewing the image and get a good idea where you're starting at. This particular image is an HDR that was bracketed and it was shot through glass, so there's a little bit of defraction there. But it's still pretty solid and tight for the pattern. What we're going to do is choose Image, Image Size. And in this case, you'll notice that there is a resample option. Let's go ahead and down convert this. Where possible, going with an even increment, like 25% or 50%, is always the best idea.…
