Why use Vanishing Point

Why use Vanishing Point

There's a really cool trick between Photoshop and After Effects called Vanishing Point. It allows you in Photoshop to draw perspective planes and then export an environment to After Effects. The process will automatically cut the photo up into layers and reassemble it in 3D space. Now, it doesn't work for all images, but when it does work, it's pretty cool. It allows you to do things like 3D pans, or moves around an object. And it's quite effective for things like animatics, or really in-depth shots. But, with some of these best techniques, experimentation is part of the fun. Let's go ahead and explore the technique in depth and be sure to pay close attention to some of the example files here so you can really unlock its power. Once you get the hang of it, you should be able to easily adapt it to your own photographs.
