The final color mode: CMYK

- [Instructor] In this movie, I'll introduce you to the final color mode that's available to you inside Photoshop which is CMYK. Now those letters C-M-Y-K stand for cyan, magenta, yellow and the key color black. The four so-called process color inks which are the standards for commercial printing. And I really wanna highlight that. If you're printing to a local inkjet or laser printer, then there's no need to convert the image to CMYK. For the best results you wanna stick with RGB and let the printer driver perform the conversion. CMYK is designed strictly for commercial reproduction. And the reason I bring up CMYK in the first place, is because one of the most common questions I get when I'm showing people how to mask images is, "Can I work in CMYK?" And the answer is yes kind of, but you're not gonna have nearly as many options available to you because for example, blend modes are calculated differently in CMYK than they are in RGB, and so you're best off creating your masks in the…
