The real purpose of the White Balance tool

- [Instructor] All right, now, before I totally wrap things up, I want to make sure that I share with you the real intended purpose for the White Balance tool inside Camera Raw, which is for studio portraits or other shots that include a white or gray balance card. And so notice this snapshot right here, just captured with an iPhone, so it's not actually a portrait-quality shot. But it does feature me on set, along with an X-Rite ColorChecker, which is something of an industry standard. And notice that it includes a row of neutral gray values. And so if I were to open it inside Camera Raw, which I can do from the full-screen preview in Bridge just by tapping the R key, you don't have to press the Control or Command key, and then I can get the White Balance tool just by pressing and holding Shift. Now, I want you to notice the Temperature and Tint values here. Currently, they're set to 7,000 and plus 20, respectively.…
