- There are a couple of fundamental ways to modify an image in Photoshop. You can edit the entire thing all at once which is known as a Global modification or you can adjust a specific region which is a Selective modification. Now, selective modifications go to the real power of Photoshop. After all, every mobile app lets you modify an entire image at once. But the giant creative beast that is Photoshop is special in that it lets you color correct one area while keeping another the same.
