- [Instructor] Most operating modes of the V-Ray light in their default state are size sensitive. In that the size of the light will oftentimes determine not just the amount of illumination in a scene, but also the look and makeup of the shadows being produced as well. What we want to quickly take a look at in this video then are the various size control options that are open to us as we work with each of the lights operating modes. So for instance, when working with the Plane light, we have length and width controls with these being measured in current scene units. If we just pull up the V-Ray frame buffer, then, and quickly kick off an IPR session, we can set the length and width values to five, and 70 respectively, and see how this affects both illumination and shadow casting in the scene, with values of 60 and 20 likewise producing a different look for us.
