Pix4Dbim: Mapper, fields, and model

- [Narrator] In this video you will learn the main differences between Pix4D platforms and the Pix4D suite. Depending on the application, some platforms may support your project better than others. And right here at the Pix4D website, I'm just going to briefly go over some of these. We have Pix4Dmapper. Now this platform is very simply the mainstay platform for processing data. There's also the PIX4Ddesktop that integrates with all of these, but the mapper is the one that most people are using to actually create their maps. And I've already gone ahead and opened Pix4Dmapper, and here in Pix4Dmapper, we have some demo models. And if I just open one of these up, you're going to be able to see kind of what this entails as far as features. So in the Pix4Dmapper cloud-based app, you'll be able to visualize things a little bit differently. You can see an orthomosaic, you can actually add some different items here at Annotations and so forth, you can see the digital surface model, orthomosaic, and you can even view the point cloud in 3D. So that's all well and good, and most of the platforms can do all these things, but Pix4Dmapper and Pix4Dbim are the most robust at doing those particular operations in the cloud. And I'll talk later, in other videos, how you can take your project from your desktop and upload it straight to the cloud, depending on the account type that you have. Now, back over here, we can go to the next item is Pix4Dbim. This is the construction based platform. The reason this is so interesting to me, and the reason that we use it a lot, So in the Cadastre, this example here, there's no timeliner up here, but you can still download files, you can take measurements and you can do a variety of things here, but if we go over to the Pix4Dbim option, so we just go here and click that, we have an actual asset that we've mapped, but up here will be a timeline, so if I zoom in to a particular area, let's say I just want to see maybe this part of this shack, and I want to see it on the date of June 12th, and then the date of June 14th, it will hold that zoom how this area changes, because all this data using ground control points, that way it will hold its position on this map. This also has all the functions of Pix4Dmapper, and so you can see here that it's captured a lot of data, maybe even some noise out there, but it also can do annotations, you can overlay CAD drawings on this which is a nice feature for the Bim aspect of things, and you can also of course take measurements So that's good for stockpiles and other construction based applications. Now over here, we'll go to Pix4Dfields. Fields is the agricultural app, now this, if we look at it in the cloud-based platform, we'll go over here to Fields, you can see there's some demos, and we'll go to this Sequoia Multispectral imagery, now this also has a timeliner so you can see crops over time and this is multispectral imagery here. Now in this particular case, there is no 3D option, so it's very simply to look at crop health and to see things from a two-dimensional place. This is a little bit less expensive for the license of this, you can pay monthly or yearly, but it does show farmers or whomever needs to use this, exactly what they need to see very quickly, so it's a little bit simpler interface. And then finally we have Pix4Dmodel. So this is just another way to get through data fast, and if you're just processing in 3D this may be all you need. In this particular application you have the ability to take simple measurements, and in all of them you have the ability to view other things like inspections, so if I click on something I can see so if I click on something I can see what images were taken of that particular asset what images were taken of that particular asset on the model and so forth. on the model and so forth. Also you can download all the assets here Also you can download all the assets here in all of these platforms, in all of these platforms, which allows you to pull them onto your computer which allows you to pull them onto your computer and deal with them maybe in third-party software. and deal with them maybe in third-party software. So that's a summary of the different sort of suite apps. So that's a summary of the different sort of suite apps. You might want to take a look at these for your uses, You might want to take a look at these for your uses, and it depends on the application, and it depends on the application, of which one may suit your needs best. of which one may suit your needs best.
