Minding the height of the light and its mood

- I've got just a couple other ideas to share with you about light and its relation to your person. First of all, we want to pay attention to the height of the light. And the first thing to pay attention to is that you're not lighting from below. Usually when I give an assistant a reflector to use, it's natural to set it down here and reflect light upward into somebody's face, but it's not flattering and it's not natural and it looks like we're using a reflector to do it. If it looks like you're telling campfire stories, ghost stories, around the fireplace, then you're probably doing it wrong. So you always want to hold that reflector nice and high, kinda like Atlas holding the world on his shoulders and that will give you light coming from above, which is a much more natural position for light to shine on people.
