Using a reflector

- When you want to make a portrait, all you need is a person, a camera, and great light. And the simplest tool to help you make great light is a reflector. I highly recommend you get one of these, and they're inexpensive. The most common kind of reflector is like this. These are called five-in-one reflectors, and this is the most common size. It's about a 43 inch round diameter reflector. However, I really prefer this oblong shape. It's much bigger. It's easier to hold. I think this one's about 40 inches by 60 inches. And it's a called a five-in-one reflector kit because it has five different sides to it. The first are white and gold, and then the inside is black and silver on this side. And then the fifth one is the diffuser or scrim, that's right here in the middle portion. My favorite part of the five-in-one reflector kit is the diffuser. And if I had to choose just one piece, it would be to keep the diffuser with me. I can use it to create soft light from sunlight. I can even use…
