- [Lecturer] Now, something which I have to bring up, you cannot automate a process without having the process designed, first. Do you think that this was self-evident? But honestly it's not. There truly are organizations that have never gone to the effort of putting together solid, standard procedures for their work. Sometimes it's because the individual team members all have their own way of approaching the tasks. Management may only be looking at the end results and think, "Well, as long as it all gets done, it doesn't matter how it gets done." "Well, this can work." But if someone leaves or is out for a few days, it makes it very hard for another team member to pick up the work midway through.
