Connecting to a sample data file
- [Instructor] If you don't have any data to work with in Power BI, sample data is available for use. Start by navigating to the workspace where you want to connect the sample data to, like this Human Resources workspace. Then, select Get Data in the lower-left corner. From the more ways to create your own content area, select Samples. Various industry-specific samples are listed. Select a sample, and then select Connect. Notifications appear that it is importing and refreshing the data. Once the data is ready, a notification appears in the upper-right corner, your dataset is ready. There will be content in various areas like the dashboard you see here, as well as a report and a dataset. And that's how you can connect to sample data.
