Discover the difference between Power BI versions

- [Instructor] Previously, I mentioned Power BI Desktop and the Power BI Desktop is a perfect piece of software if just you are going to be using Power BI or if you wanted to create your own Power BI content maybe share that content on your local network and then download it on another computer and then work on it that way. So it's exceptionally good for individual users trying to manipulate their data. Then you have your Power BI Pro. Your Power BI Pro costs a little bit of money per month. And that includes improved data collaboration and the ability to publish your reports anywhere. Now, with the desktop version, you have to publish it up to the Power BI service. In the Power BI Pro version, you can publish your data anywhere. So Power BI Pro gives you more collaboration options outside of let's just set your office network. Then you have your Power BI Premium, and I consider this your IT version of Power BI. Basically, if you want to run Power BI across your corporate structure then probably the Power BI Premium is going to give you the most flexibility. It'll allow you to manage your licenses easier. They won't necessarily be on a per user basis. They can be distributed and overall it will give you a dedicated cloud platform that you can upload your information to and use as a storage resource as well. So Power BI Premium is the top of the line and best for larger organizations, Power BI Pro, that's good, particularly for smaller organizations. And you just want to have a team of a few users that can share the data any way that they want to. And then you have your Power BI Desktop which is the free version that you can just use on your own computer, or maybe store files on your company server, and then anybody with access to that drive can then access that data.
