Merge and group shapes
- [Instructor] I'm going to show you about two fun tips that you can do with shapes to really make your presentations pop. The first one involves shapes, and what you can do when you just can't find that shape that you need. It's called merging shapes and it allows you to take two shapes and combine them in all new ways. Let's start by inserting a shape, I'll choose Insert Shapes. I'll choose a circle, I'll make it much bigger so you can see what's going on and now let's add a second shape, I'll click Insert again, choose Shapes, and this time I'll choose something like a plus sign. I'll click to put the shape down, hold the Shift key and make it much bigger so that it's just about covering all of the circle. See if I can get it as close as I can. Okay, I can nudge it around a bit, that's fine. To merge these shapes I first need to select one shape, hold down the Shift key and select the other shape. On the Format tab, the Merge Shapes tool has appeared. I have some options here…
