- [Instructor] PowerPoint is used less frequently in liberal arts classes than it is in STEM classes like mathematics or science, but nevertheless, it can play a very important role assuming that instructors open themselves up to thinking creatively about how PowerPoint might overlap with their content. So let's take a look at some slide reimaginings. An ineffective PowerPoint slide often looks like this as from a hypothetical music class. There are several problems here. There's no focal point first of all so the viewer doesn't know where to look. The text is all one size and perceived mostly as a visual chunk that then has to be parsed out. There also isn't much logic behind the bullet points. This isn't a sequential order nor are there common items grouped in a list. It's just a batch of talking points and the bulleted format sends a false signal to a viewer about the information.
