Using 3D objects

- [Instructor] PowerPoint for Office 365 lets you insert 3D objects into a slide, and then animate those objects, which gives you a wide range of new choices for your teaching presentations. To add a 3D object, head over to the Insert tab, then choose 3D Models, and From Online Sources. This area of PowerPoint is called Remix 3D, and it contains models developed by Microsoft users. Any models here though are fair use under a Creative Commons license. There are several categories, many of which could apply directly to education. For example, we've got geology, biology. Scrolling further down you can see things like musical instruments, and even medical objects. We're going to choose insects, excuse the creepy crawlies. Select this butterfly, and then choose Insert. It may take a moment for the object to be rendered. And there it is. We can now resize the object, just as we would any normal PowerPoint object, but by selecting this area in the center, we can also rotate the object which…
