Using hyperlinks
- [Instructor] Being stuck within a presentation isn't a good feeling, and sometimes as a teacher, you need to move beyond the linear one-slide-after-another routine that often makes PowerPoint ineffective. One way to break this pattern is through external or internal hyperlinks, which create action areas in the slide that can direct your presentation's movements. Let's look at internal hyperlinks first. We've got our text area here at the top. Now let's say we want to add a link to something like the President's Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition, so students can explore further. I've included that link here below. Well, to add it here, we simply highlight the text, then go over to Insert, and choose Link. Selecting Insert Link brings up a couple of options including one to link to an existing file or webpage. We just paste the address here and hit Okay. Now, the link is active on our slide. We'll head into the slide itself. And as you can see, when we pull up this particular…
