What are showstopper moments?

- [Instructor] Sometimes as presentation designers we swing for the fences on every slide. We're tryin' to impress the clients and slay the audience with clever animations and dazzling color combinations. Now don't get me wrong, there is a time for this, but what we have to keep in mind is that after a while the message gets so lost because the audience is wondering what the next cool thing is gonna be. So my formula for great presentations is simple. 85% nice, clean slides and 15% showstopper slides. Now what is a showstopper slide? It's one of the slides that a stakeholder goes, "Ooo," the first time you show it to them. It's usually a complex animation or sequence that is used to introduce a product or concept, or just illustrate a point visually. If you only have two or three of these moments throughout your presentation, they don't get overdone and they really help to illustrate the concept you're tryin' to showcase in a major way.
