What you should know

- [Narrator] There's some things that you're going to want to to know in order to get the most out of this course, so some knowledge of SQL Server and Windows Server Management is going to be extremely handy, you're going to want to have a desire to manage multiple machines at once within your work environment, and you're going to want, have a desire to automate your daily task, if you want to get the most out of this course, you're going to want to follow along with some of the examples that I've shown that have provided you some demo scrips for. In order to run those you're going to need PowerShell, that's going to be included with Windows 2012 or higher. You're also going to want to have SQL Server 2014 or higher installed on your machine as well as SQL Server PowerShell modules which you'll get by running the Install-Module SQL Server within the PowerShell environment. If you're installing SQL Server 2016 or higher you're also going to want to download SQL Server Management Studio. You can get both SQL Server and Management Studio from Microsoft.com/SQL.
