- We've just looked at LKFS tools and how to actually measure. But let's jump into Premiere and see how we can achieve proper LKFS in our mix. Loudness unit. We're choosing LKFS and this is where probably one of the most important things that you can choose on this page and it's the loudness standard. You have two different choices. The BS 1770-3 and the Laq(K). There are certain specs that indicate that you have to choose the Laq(K) weighting for your measurement and some specs ask you to use the IT measurement of BS 1770-3. Making sure that you use the dash three is as important because if you're using a dash two or dash one, again your measurements will be off. So depending on what your specs say, you'll use either the K what they call K weighted or the other unit from IT. So this is the most important setting in this whole tool is to make sure that you have it properly set because if you don't for the spec it doesn't matter that you're measuring it you'll come out with a different…
