- Metadata is a powerful tool that you use all the time, whether you know it or you don't. It literally means data about data, and it's the extra data that's appended to video and audio and image files that gives you more information. Things like time and date and markers, all kinds of information that can be sort of appended there that are not technically part of the video, but are information that can ride along with it. So, Adobe Media Encoder has some powerful tools that allow you to attach metadata to media files and in fact add metadata on export if you choose to. Let me show you how it works. We're here in Media Encoder and I've just got a little test cue set up, and I wanna click in to the export settings. There's this button right down here called metadata that's gonna manage all of this.
